Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

BeatShip is operated by SELDR LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17120348), registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ.

2. The short version

• Your music stays on your computer. Audio, stems, artwork and videos are made on your device and go from your device straight to YouTube. They never pass through our servers.
• Your YouTube access stays on your computer. The sign-in token is encrypted on your device and never sent to us.
• We hold very little. Your BeatShip account (email and sign-in records) and, if you joined it, the waitlist. No ads, no trackers, and we never sell your data.

3. What we collect

Your BeatShip account. You sign in at login.beatship.io, which Auth0 runs for us. It holds your email address, your password as a secure hash that we cannot read, and sign-in records (time, IP address, browser) used to protect your account. You type your password there, in your own browser, never into the BeatShip app.

The waitlist. If you join it on this website, we store your email, the DAW you picked (optional), which sign-up form you used, and the referral code of the link you arrived through, if any.

Emails you send us. We keep the conversation so we can help you.

In the app. Everything else stays on your computer: your beats, stems, artwork, videos, titles, descriptions and settings. The app sends no analytics and no usage tracking. It connects to only three places:

• Auth0, to sign you in.
• Google, when you connect YouTube and when you publish (section 4).
• Our download server, to check for updates. The check sends the app version and a random install number created on your computer. That number is used only to roll out updates and is not linked to your account.

4. YouTube

BeatShip uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

You connect with your Google account; your Google password never reaches BeatShip. BeatShip asks for two permissions: upload videos to your channel, and view your YouTube account (used only to read your channel name and check that an upload finished). It cannot edit or delete videos, and it cannot see your playlists, comments, subscribers or analytics.

What BeatShip accesses, and what happens to it

How it is used. Only to do what you asked: upload your video, show your channel, and confirm the upload. You set the title, description and privacy setting of every video before it uploads.

Who it is shared with. No one but Google. YouTube data never reaches our servers, so no one at SELDR LTD can see it. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI. BeatShip shows no ads.

BeatShip’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How to stop access. Either way works on its own:

• In BeatShip, open Settings and choose Disconnect YouTube. This revokes BeatShip at Google and deletes the token from your computer.
• In your Google Account, remove BeatShip at myaccount.google.com/connections. This works even if BeatShip is no longer installed.

Videos you already published stay on your channel until you delete them in YouTube.

5. Cookies and storage on your device

On this website. One cookie of our own, bs_ref. It is set only if you arrive through a referral link, holds that link’s referral code for 30 days, and is sent with your waitlist sign-up. No analytics or advertising cookies.

On the sign-in page. Auth0 sets cookies at login.beatship.io to keep you signed in and to protect your account from misuse. When you connect YouTube, Google’s sign-in page sets Google’s own cookies, under the Google Privacy Policy.

In the app. BeatShip keeps its data in its own folder on your computer (%APPDATA%\BeatShip on Windows): its database (your beats, listings and publish history), logs, working files, your BeatShip sign-in session and your YouTube token (both encrypted), and the random install number used for updates.

6. Who we share data with

Each provider does one job for us and may use your data only for that job.

• Auth0 (Okta, Inc.) runs sign-in and holds your account. It also sends account emails, such as password resets. Data is held in the European Union.
• Supabase holds the waitlist. Hosted on Amazon Web Services.
• Vercel hosts and serves this website.
• Cloudflare runs our domain name (DNS), routes our email and stores our downloads.
• Google receives what you publish to YouTube, directly from your computer (section 4).

No ad networks, no data brokers, and we do not sell or rent personal data to anyone. Where data is processed outside the UK, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

7. How long we keep things

• Your account: until you ask us to delete it. Auth0 keeps sign-in records for a limited period to protect your account.
• The waitlist: until you ask us to remove you.
• Emails you send us: 24 months.
• YouTube video ID and link: deleted from your computer after 30 days.
• Your YouTube token: until you disconnect.
• Everything else in the app: on your computer, until you delete it.

Deletion requests are completed within 30 days. Copies in backups are gone within 90 days.

8. How to delete your data

1. Disconnect YouTube. In BeatShip, open Settings and choose Disconnect YouTube. This revokes BeatShip at Google and deletes the token from your computer.
2. Remove BeatShip at Google. Go to myaccount.google.com/connections and remove BeatShip. Use this if BeatShip is no longer installed.
3. Delete the app’s data. Uninstall BeatShip, then delete its folder: %APPDATA%\BeatShip on Windows, or ~/Library/Application Support/BeatShip on macOS. This removes the database, logs and stored sign-ins.
4. Delete your account and waitlist entry. Email privacy@beatship.io from the address on your account. We confirm when it is done, within 30 days.

Videos already on YouTube are yours; delete them in YouTube Studio.

9. Security

Every connection uses TLS encryption. Your BeatShip sign-in session and your YouTube token are encrypted with your operating system’s own key (Windows DPAPI, macOS Keychain), not ours. Data we never receive cannot leak from us. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep what we hold to a minimum.

10. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, and EU GDPR where it applies, you can access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, object to how we use it, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or your local authority. California residents can ask to know and delete their data; we do not sell personal data. We give these rights to every user, wherever they live. Email privacy@beatship.io.

Legal basis: contract for your account; consent for the waitlist; legitimate interest for keeping the app working, updated and secure.

11. Children

BeatShip is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly hold data about anyone younger, and we delete it if we learn we do.

12. Changes and contact

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes. If a change matters, we email you before it applies.
