privacy policy
BeatShip (“we”, “us”) is operated by SELDR LTD, a company registered in England and Wales. Company details are in the site footer. Contact: privacy@beatship.io
01your music never reaches us
BeatShip reads your session and processes your audio entirely on your device. Beats, stems, project files, voice tags, artwork, beat titles, tempo and key, and app settings stay on your computer. We hold no copy of any of it. We cannot leak, sell, or train on your music, because we never receive it.
When you publish, the files travel from your computer straight to the platform. They never pass through us.
02what we do hold
Your email. Joining the waitlist or creating an account stores your email address so we can contact you about access and updates. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link that works instantly.
Your licence status. Whether your subscription is active, and which plan you are on.
A publish count, on the free plan only. To hold the free plan to its monthly limit we record one row per publish: your account identifier, a timestamp, and the destination platform. No beat title, no tempo, no key, no filename, and nothing else about your music. Rows are deleted after 60 days; only an anonymous monthly total is kept. Paid plans are never counted and make no such request.
Diagnostics, only if you send them. BeatShip writes an error log on your own computer. If something breaks you can press “send report”, and you see exactly what it contains before it leaves your machine. There is no background telemetry, no analytics, no feature tracking and no device identifier inside the app. We do not know which features you use, how often you open BeatShip, or whether you opened it at all.
Support conversations. If you write to us, we keep the exchange to help you. Deleted after 24 months.
03when the app contacts us
BeatShip is built to work offline. It reaches our servers only for the following, and each request carries the least it can:
Account sign-in and licence check — to create your account and confirm your subscription is active. Your licence is verified on your own device and refreshes periodically; if our servers are unreachable, BeatShip keeps working.
Free-plan publish count — as described above, and only on the free plan.
Configuration and update checks — settings that let us repair a broken platform connection without you installing a new build, and a check for whether a newer version exists. These identify your licence and nothing else.
Assisted features you trigger — some features may send a short piece of text you have chosen, such as a description you want rewritten or a prompt for artwork, to us or to a provider acting for us, and return a result. They run only when you ask, you see what is sent, and you can decline. Your audio, stems and project files are never sent, to us or to anyone else.
Our servers never receive your audio, your stems, your project files, or any credential for a connected platform, and they never publish on your behalf. Nothing from a connected platform is ever used to train an AI model, by us or by any provider we use.
04YouTube
BeatShip uses YouTube API Services. Connecting your account means agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service; the Google Privacy Policy governs Google’s side.
You sign in with Google. Your password never touches BeatShip. We ask for the narrowest access the feature needs. BeatShip can upload a video you made in BeatShip and set its title, description, tags, thumbnail, visibility and release date at the moment of upload, check whether that upload finished processing so it can tell you it landed, and read your channel name so you can see which channel you are connected to.
What it cannot do: it cannot change a video after upload — not the title, not the description, not the thumbnail, not the visibility. It cannot delete any video, including ones it uploaded for you. It cannot touch your playlists. It cannot read your watch history, comments, subscribers, or analytics. If we ever need more, you will be asked to approve it; access you have already granted cannot be widened without you.
Your OAuth tokens, access and refresh, are stored only on your device, in your operating system’s secure credential storage. They are never sent to or held on our servers, and we never publish on your behalf from our own systems. You can cut BeatShip’s access at any moment in your Google Account permissions; it takes effect immediately.
BeatShip’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used solely for the features you trigger. Never for advertising, never sold or shared, never read by a human, never used to train AI models.
05connected platforms
BeatShip connects to the places you sell and post, so you do not repeat the same work. Today that is BeatStars and YouTube. It may in future include TikTok, Soundee, Traktrain, Airbit and SoundCloud.
The same rules hold for every one of them. The connection is made from your computer and uploads travel from your computer to that platform. Where BeatShip holds an access token, it sits on your device in your operating system’s secure credential storage. Where a platform keeps you signed in through a web session instead, that session lives in BeatShip’s own local profile on your machine, exactly as it would in a browser. In neither case does a credential reach our servers. Disconnect any time in the app and the stored credential is removed. We do not collect your sales, buyer, or customer data from any platform.
BeatShip is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by BeatStars, YouTube, Google, or Image-Line.
06who we work with
A small set of providers, each for one job, each bound to use your information only to do that job for us.
Supabase — our database and authentication provider, holding the account, licence and waitlist data in section 02. Hosted on Amazon Web Services.
Cloudflare — serves this website, routes our email, and stores our downloads.
A payment processor — subscriptions, payment details and tax. We never see or store your card details.
Email providers — one for sign-in codes and account mail, one for product news if you asked for it. Every marketing message carries an unsubscribe link that works instantly.
A support tool — holds the conversations in section 02.
AI providers — process the short text described in section 03, when you trigger a feature that uses one. They never receive your audio, your project files, or anything from a connected platform, and nothing we send them trains their models.
We may change any provider above. A replacement is held to the same terms and this list is updated. No ad networks, no trackers in the app, no data brokers, and we do not sell personal information, anywhere, to anyone. Where data is processed outside the UK, transfers are protected under UK adequacy rules and the international data transfer agreement.
07security
All connections use TLS encryption. Signing in to a platform happens on your device and stays there; where BeatShip holds a token, it is written to your operating system’s own credential store, so the key belongs to your operating system and not to us. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; we reduce risk by design — data we do not hold cannot be compromised.
08data retention and deletion
Email: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Licence records: while your account exists, and as long afterwards as tax law requires. Free-plan publish rows: 60 days, then only an anonymous monthly total. Diagnostic reports: only exist if you sent one, deleted after 12 months. Support conversations: 24 months. Deletion requests to privacy@beatship.io are completed within 30 days, with residual backups purged within 90.
YouTube data is held to YouTube’s clock, not ours. The only things YouTube’s API returns to us are the id and link of a video you asked us to upload. We delete those within 7 days of a deletion request, and in any case no later than 30 days after the upload — the limits YouTube’s own API Services Terms set, which are shorter than the 30 and 90 above. Your OAuth tokens never reach us at all; they are deleted from your device the moment you disconnect.
09your rights
Under UK GDPR, and EU GDPR where it applies, you can access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your data, object to processing, and complain to the ICO or your local authority. California residents have the right to know, delete, and opt out; we do not sell personal information, anywhere, for anyone. We extend these rights to every user regardless of location. Legal basis: consent for the waitlist and for marketing email, contract for your account and licence, legitimate interest for keeping the software working and secure.
10age
BeatShip is for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly hold data on anyone younger, and we delete it promptly if we learn otherwise.
