BeatShip
BeatShip is a desktop application for music producers, published by SELDR LTD. It takes a finished beat and does everything that comes after making it: organising the session, exporting the deliverable files, writing the metadata, and publishing the result to the producer’s own accounts on YouTube and BeatStars.
What BeatShip does
A producer finishes a beat in their DAW and opens BeatShip. The application reads the session, renames and routes the channels so the stems export cleanly, then builds the release package: a master WAV, a tagged MP3 with the producer’s voice tag placed, a stems archive, artwork, and a video rendered for YouTube. It drafts the title, tags and description.
The producer reviews everything before anything is published. On approval, BeatShip uploads the video to their YouTube channel and the beat to their BeatStars account. All processing happens on the producer’s own computer, and files travel directly from that computer to the platform.
Why BeatShip requests access to your Google Account
BeatShip uses YouTube API Services so that a producer can publish a video to their own channel from inside the application, rather than exporting a file and uploading it by hand. Sign-in happens through Google’s own consent screen and the producer’s password never reaches BeatShip.
BeatShip requests two scopes and no others:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload — to upload the video the producer created in BeatShip to their channel, and to set that video’s thumbnail. Title, description, tags, visibility and scheduled release date are set in the same upload request.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly — to read the channel’s name, so the application can show the producer which channel they are connected to before publishing, and to check whether an upload has finished processing.
What BeatShip cannot do with your Google Account
It cannot change a video after it has been uploaded — not the title, the description, the thumbnail or the visibility. It cannot delete any video, including videos it uploaded. It cannot create or modify playlists. It cannot read watch history, comments, subscribers or analytics.
Google and YouTube tokens are stored only on the producer’s own device, in the operating system’s secure credential storage. They are never transmitted to, stored on, or seen by our servers, and BeatShip never uploads on a producer’s behalf from our own systems. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
BeatShip’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. BeatShip is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google, BeatStars or Image-Line.
Who it is for
Music producers who sell or give away instrumentals, and who publish the same beat to more than one place. BeatShip removes the repeated manual work between finishing a beat and having it live.
